5 Must Haves for a Clumsy Person

Hello smiley faces. I hope you are doing great. Did you know that there are only two types of people in this world? If not then let me tell you that the two types of people are clumsy people and non-clumsy people. A clumsy person can be defined as a person who can fall over anything and everything in this world. Yes friends, he/she can even topple over things that can’t be seen by naked eye. I am a clumsy person I can fall over anything and anything ranges from a tiny molecule of air to my own feet. I can even miss seeing a giant wall in front of me & just get hit by it. So if you are a clumsy person, you got to have a few essentials with you. And here they are.
1. A bit of Luck – If luck is not by your side, you are more likely to fall more frequently. On my good lucky days, I might fall down just 1-2 times in the entire day. But on my unlucky days, I end up having bandages on my arms and feet. Plus something in my house is definitely broken because of me. So luck is very important guys.
2. Presence of mind – It has been observed that when I have my senses 100% active, there are less chances of me falling down. I fall down mostly when I am busy with my own thinking or I am listening to a song and imagining myself as an actress of that movie. But the most common is when I do “Walk when you talk/message” stunt with my phone. So presence of mind is extremely essential.
3. Ability to take a joke on him/her – A clumsy person must possess an ability to take a joke on him/her. If you fall down in public, people will laugh at you but you should make sure you always get up laughing. You can always joke and roll down with laughter later remembering about that incident.
4. Loud voice – You should have a loud voice to yell for help if you fall down badly and you are unable to get up. When I fall down at home I yell “Mom, help me I fell down” (in Marathi of course) and my mom’s reaction is “Oh no not again!!!!!!”. When I fall in public, I don’t have to yell because most of the times at least one my friends is with me. And my friend’s reaction is an exaggerated version of my mom’s reaction.
5. Mini First-aid kit – Let’s be real friends, if anyone falls down and he/she gets hurt, a mini first-aid kit comes in handy. It should consist of bandages, band-aids, pain relief creams, antiseptic creams, cotton, dettol and the magic antiseptic ‘turmeric’. So have a first-aid kit in your bag.
If you are a clumsy person or if you know a clumsy person (except me), just comment down below. Do share this post with any clumsy person you know. And friends always remember that even if you’re clumsy, it’s okay. That’s because even though little clumsy smurf caused so much trouble due to his clumsiness, he turned out to be the hero in the end.

My Tips to Start a “Healthy Eating” Regime

Hello smiley faces. I hope you all are doing great. Today I am going to share with you some of my tips to start a “healthy eating” regime. Without further ado, let’s jump right into it.

1. Give away all the unhealthy food – If you have unhealthy food around you, you will most probably end up eating it. So scan your kitchen (especially your fridge) for unhealthy foods and donate it to a needy and hungry person. If you can’t get rid of all the unhealthy food a time, just do it in steps. Start with the fridge, move to kitchen drawers and cabinets and lastly move to your “secret food storage” places (come on everyone has one :D)
2. Make a point to buy only healthy foods – On your next trip to the supermarket, skip the chips, farsan, fizzy drinks and frozen foods section. And go ahead and buy healthy cereals, grains, sprouts, oats, fresh vegetables and fruits.
3. Remember healthy food ≠ bland – Many people have the conception that healthy food is not tasty. That’s not true my dear friends. I personally think that all you need to make a food tasty is few spices and salt, maybe a little bit of oil too. In India, we have so many varieties of spices and masalas. Use them to make your food tasty. Also if the presentation of the food is good, anyone will eat it. So present healthy food in an appeasing way ;)
4. Find healthy alternatives – Finding healthy alternatives to their unhealthy counterparts is a difficult job, but it’s not impossible. Deep frying can be substituted for shallow frying or roasting in the oven. Sugar can be substituted for dates or jaggery or even honey. White flour (maida) can be replaced with whole wheat flour or multigrain flour and so on. I can write a whole article on this :D
5. Don’t ever go out on an empty stomach – Yes friends, this trick just works like magic. If you are fully fed, you won’t be tempted to eat at one of those unhealthy roadside food joints/ restaurants/ pizza stores/ ice-cream corners. Because if anyone overeats, he/she has to bear the consequences next morning (unless you have some magical digestive herb) :D
6. Share the unhealthy food – I have observed that if you eat alone, you tend to eat more. But if you share your food with some of your friends, you tend to eat less. So the next time you order a pizza make sure you invite 3 of your friends. This will make sure you eat just one portion of it and not the whole pizza. This trick will work only if you order the same amount of food that you were going to eat all by yourself, not 4 times of what you wanted to eat.
7. “All is well” mantra – Whenever you are tempted to eat the unhealthy food, just say, “All is well. You don’t need this food”. This mantra might work for all those who deal with the problem of emotional eating. Whenever I am tempted to eat anything unhealthy, I tell my brain and also heart, “The food is stale and it’s made with karela (bitter gourd)”. That’s because I just hate stale food and karela and that helps me to avoid that food :D
So friends, these were some of my tips for all the newbies who want to start a healthy lifestyle. I have been following these tips and they have worked for me. Even though I might cheat once in a while, but still I can call myself a healthy eater. You will see some more healthy tips and tricks and recipes on this blog in near future. So stay tuned for that. Multani Mitti - Chandan Face Pack

Hello my dear friends. I hope you are doing great. Today I am going to share with you a very simple face pack which is made with chandan and multani mitti. These two ingredients are safe to be used on almost all skin types and they slowly work wonders for your skin. They both help to make your skin soft and it gives your skin a healthy glow. Both of them also help to reduce acne and blemishes. These two ingredients have been used since ancient times as cleansing agents in the form of ubtans or soaps. So I decided to make 4 versions of this face pack suitable for 4 different skin types. There are 4 basic ingredients and by adding or subtracting few ingredients, you get a face pack to suit your skin type.
The ingredients are easily available and this is a really pocket friendly face pack. So let’s jump right into it.
Basic Ingredients:
1. 1 ½ tbsp Multani mitti
2. 1 tsp Chandan powder
3. ¼ tsp Turmeric powder

4. Rosewater

For Sensitive skinned beauties only basic ingredients are needed.

Dry skinned beauties add in ½ tsp almond powder along with the basic ingredients.
Oily skinned beauties add in ½ tsp of lemon juice along with the basic ingredients.
The beauties with Combination skin (like me) add in ½ tsp almond powder as well as in ½ tsp of lemon juice along with the basic ingredients.
Procedure:
1. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl and store this dry mixture in an airtight container for further use.
2. Take 2 tsp of this mixture and add in the wet ingredients and viola your face pack is ready to use. It’s pretty simple right???? (The pack shouldn’t be too thick or too watery).
3. Apply this pack on your face and neck with a brush and let it sit for around 10-15 minutes. Then take it off with normal tap water. Follow it with your regular moisturizer.
This pack will be enough for 3-4 uses. Use this pack twice or thrice a week. Trust me friends this pack will make your skin look so good. You can even apply this on your hands and feet just like an ubtan. This is my favorite face pack and I have been using this for almost 2 years now and it has made my skin look so much better than it was 2 years ago. So let me know in the comments below how this pack works for your skin.

P.S: Always do a patch test behind your ear to test whether the pack is suitable for you or not.

The Tale of a Disappearing Dimple

Hello my dear friends. As the title suggests, I am going to narrate you a story. No it’s not a story about a girl named dimple but it is a story of a girl who had a cute dimple. So here it is.
Long time ago, there lived a little girl. What was special about this girl?? Well nothing, she was just a normal girl. There was one thing that she just loved about her. And you guessed it correctly, it was her dimple. It appeared on her chubby cheeks whenever she smiled. Even though nobody appreciated her dimple, she was really proud of it. It was her favorite thing about herself.
As she started growing up, her body and her face started changing, but not her dimple and she was so happy about that. Her dimple was her only respite in her “I hate myself” time of the life. She just loved her dimple and knew that her dimple would never leave her. Until one day, when she was going through her latest pictures and she realized that her beloved dimple is nowhere to be seen. She rushed to her trusty mirror and tried smiling in different ways, but alas the dimple had left her. You have no idea how devastated she was. She initially thought that it was the fault of the troublesome wisdom tooth. But then the tooth had been there for almost 2 years and the dimple had been there at that time. So she decided to find out how her dimple disappeared.
She looked closely in the mirror and saw that there were layers of fat on her body and also her cheeks. She had put on so much weight in last few years (she was never skinny though). And then she realized that the only way to get back her dimple was to get rid of the excess fat. That was going to be really hard for her. But she was determined to get back her beloved dimple. So from that day onwards, she decided to adopt a healthy lifestyle in order to lose weight. The road to being healthy was really really hard for her. She had to change her diet and she had to exercise rigorously. But she did it all, well most of the times. She did manage to lose weight and she still is trying her best to do so. And did she get her dimple back?? Well all I can say is she almost did. And as she got back her dimple, she got back her confidence too.
Any guesses who this girl was/is? The girl in the story is me. This is my story of starting a healthy lifestyle. And who am I? I am your friend called “A Happy Girl”.

Mango-Yogurt Desert (Healthy Sweet Recipe)

Hello my dear friends. How are you all doing? This is my first blog post. Let's have sweet start to this journey.
So today I am going to share with you a very healthy desert recipe and guess what it is made with???? Mangoes (Yummy…….). It is said that mangoes, if eaten in a large quantity tend to generate heat inside your body. So it should be eaten with either milk or yogurt. This desert is based on this idea. It is a much healthier and a little stylish take on the traditional mango lassi. It can also be called as a cross between mango lassi and mango-yogurt parfait.

So let’s get started, shall we??
Ingredients (for 2 servings):
1. ½ cup Plain yogurt
2. ¾ cup Mango pulp
3. 1 tbsp thin Mango slices
4. 1½ tbsp Oats
5. 1 tsp Jaggery

6. 1 tsp Sugar or honey

Procedure:
1. Add yogurt and sugar into a bowl and mix them until you get a smooth consistency. If your yogurt is little sweeter, just skip this step.
2. Add the mango slices into the yogurt-sugar mixture.

3. Put the yogurt mixture and mango pulp (separately) into the freezer for about 20-30 minutes.
4. In a non-stick pan, dry roast the oats for 4-5 minutes or until the oats change color. Then keep it aside to cool.

5. In a non-stick pan heat the jaggery till it melts. You need to keep it stirring continuously.

6. Add in the roasted oats and mix them really well. Roast for 2 more minutes and then turn off the stove. These jaggery coated oats taste really good. You can directly munch on them. But we need them to add finishing touch to our desert. So save some for that.
7. After the yogurt mixture & the mango pulp have rested for 20-30 minutes in the freezer, it’s time to complete our desert. This is how we’ll do it.
8. In a glass, first add 1/4th of the mango pulp. Tap the glass lightly so that it spreads evenly.
9. Next add ½ of yogurt mixture. Spread it evenly with a spoon.
10. Add the remaining 1/4th of the mango pulp. So in short we sandwich the yogurt in between the mango pulp.
11. The last step is to sprinkle the crunchy oats on the top.

12. Repeat these steps to make another glass of the yummy desert.
13. Put the dessert into the freezer for an hour. And then your desert is ready to satisfy your sweet tooth.
This desert seriously tastes awesome. Also it serves two so you can share it with another mango lover. Try it out and let me know in the comments whether you like it or not.
